Your compassion is admirable but t I don't think it's about running people off bowhunting. It's pure common sense. This isnt a game of "tidiliwinks". While we all have harvested deer I believe the majority of us have a deep respect and train and practice to take a life efficiently and painlessly as possible. It is one thing to ask for help and learn, it is another to carelessly let loose shafts that could lead to a long agonizing death.
You are correct Snake, we are not perfect but acts like these don't deserve compassion, they deserve honesty.

Don't get Hung up on the doe. This story is about a monster buck that was inside 8 yards of my ground blind.

Is it really so hard in 2012 to find information about bow hunting or anything thing else for that matter? Pretty much anything you see or read on the web talks about limitations, responsibility, respecting the game and acting safe and ethical. Then you come on here and say how your flinging arrows at 57 yards at does because there everywhere...and your going to look for sympathy because you missed a monster buck....... If this site is going to a place for hand holding and back rubbing I say stick it!. The great thing about bow hunting is 99% of the time we are alone and answer only to ourselves...that why we love it. Instead of giving the guy a shoulder to cry on maybe a kick in the pants is better....Grow up buddy.

Sadly, there is plenty of bad info out there too. You don't have to go any further than this forum to find it, and this is one of the good ones. It is much worse other places. Including many of today's hunting shows. Bow makers, or at least the people they pay to use their tackle, are often touting how their effective range is increasing because of "X" bow.

I'm not saying plenty of good info isn't out there, but you can easily find something on the interwebs/tv to justify just about any shot you want to take at a whitetail.

She was broadside with her head down eating. I have a 20 35 and 50 yard pin and I like to think I'm a pretty good shot. I knew you guys are complete *******s to new posters. I don't know why I thought I could share an experience of a lifetime with you elitist pricks.

I'm not even gonna share my experience with you now. I'll only Aah that I called him in to withon 8 yards of my ground blind, DOWN wind and he didn't see or smell me. And for the record the shot on the slow moving buck was just 13 yards away. He ducked and spun and my arrow went just couple inches over his back and was right behind his shoulder. I was in my ground blind at the time and he kept coming. Eventually stopping 8 yards away on the other side of a bush. Its a great story but you'll never hear it. Thanks for implying I'm a unscrupulous piece of crap tho for taking a shot at a doe.

Don't worry, you got your wish, I won't be back to trouble you.

I think we have heard enough already. And its not new posters that get treated that way. Its new posters that have no common sense and dont realize how stupid their actions really are. Maybe you will understand that some day.

The only deer you talk about are ones you missed. I don't think that makes you a pretty good shot.

no that is not what I said , I didn't say that I fling arrows 57 yards at does because theyre everywhere I said missing doesn't stink so much because theyre everywhere. and like I said I estimated her to be closer than that. but none of that matters this is all about your jealousy I see now. most of you never even seen a buck that big much less been 8 yards away. you're just jealous of the rookie had a shot because you never even had a shot

perhaps because I've only been out a dozen times only taken 3 shots at live targets. shot bullfrog in the head from a boat at 20 yards with my 45. I consider myself a good shot.

If you were a "good shot" an 8 yard shot should be nothing. If you cant hit a deer at 8 how do you think you will hit one out to 50yards.

So now shooting frogs at 20 yards with a gun means you are a good enough shot to shoot deer at 50 yards with an arrow? LOL No wonder you keep missing, even at 8 yards.

Normally I would lock a thread like this, but I'll leave it open for a bit. Hopefully someone, most likely other than the OP, will learn something from this. Just keep it clean guys.

BTW Iowa, nice fake email you used to register for the site.
