During shed season in March/April i walk everywhere. Only then though. I look for beds, rubs, trails leading in/out and droppings. Also, look at the view.

You should look for a very thick/brush in the woods. This will most likely be a decent bedding area. Doe’s like to bed next to fields. If you can find any tall vegetation (Grass) look there for flattened areas in the vegetation. Those flattened areas are where deer have been bedded down. Look around a little and you should find lots of deer droppings. That means “BINGO” you there. They also love to bed on Fence rows.

Look for places that not many people go into. Deer can bed pretty much any where, ridges, river bottoms, tall grass, willows, under pine trees, thick brush, blown down timber, pretty much any where they feel safe and they can see their surroundings without being seen themselves.

I have a ton of pines on my land and they are thick and nasty. I like to go in there and find we're they are moving in and out. Almost always find a ton of bedding in there. Also I have a spot were the pines run into the oaks. The pines or there hide out oaks are there feeding area. The road going in through there is there staging are. Always rubs on the rd.

I look for spots where I spook a bedded deer from, or find the actual bed. Usually these places are thicker than the surrounding areas, but they don't have to be.
