I use my hunting boots for things in the off season for things other than hunting deer.

How do you de-scent your boots now that scent will again matter? Do you have some type of foot powder? Do you just soak the inside with scent killer spray? Right now my boots stink.

The outside I just plan on taking a brush with warm scent free soapy water and scrubbing them down.

leave them outside for a few days if u can and hit them w/ the scent killer every so often. i also heard of folks putting grass clippings in there.

I would think anything in nature would be fine to throw in there, leaves, grass, I would throw scent wafers in them earth scent or vanilla scent. And you can occassionally spray them, let the fresh air do the rest

Back when I owned my dive shop, I had this stuff called Sink the Stink. It was an active bacteria that ate the food or the actual stink bacteria. Its still around, but it has a smell to it - spicy.

I wonder if anyone could make a unscented version for deer scent control?

Stuff is great, I used to spray down my seats in my truck since they were wet all the time from me riding home after diving. Worked wonders on my rental suits and such - didn't get that nasty wet smell.

Arm and Hammer, for a few days then let them air out. After that activated carbon insoles.

I soak all my boots in the bath tub in hot water with whatever scent free laundry detergent I am using. I then put them outside to air dry.

I keep my hunting boots in their own rubbermaid container with earth scent waffers all year long. They are only removed when I enter the woods.

I have other boots for work and other activities.

It won't elimintate "all" of the scent. Once you stick your feet in that boot, your foot scent combines with the natural scent of the boot.

I like Buckeye's method....soak the boots in a "scent free" cleaning agent and then let them air dry.

And the best method of all for removing ground scent is to try and not walk where the deer walk.

I've tried the ozone generators for removing human odors from boots and sweaty caps. So far I have to say it hasn't worked for removing any scent. Maybe I just stink worse than most. Still not convinced on these things.

For me it does not matter, my feet will undo anything I try in the first 30 minutes of walking.

I usually put them outside for a few days and sprinkle baking soda inside them.

A always throw a bit of baking soda in my boots.

When I "clean" my hunting boots, I soak them with odor free scent eliminating spray, and, rub them down with baking soda, then, rinse them off with hot water. I'll hang them in the woods on my property to air dry, then, put them away in an air tight bin with an open baking soda box.
