My point wasn't to have the government force them to invest their American profits back into America, I just thought it would do a lot more than here than it is there. IMO
We should all be able to do whatever we want with our profits no matter how much we earn.

My thought was they are business savvy enough to put together a real jobs program in America.

It must be made uncomfortable. I think there is a Thomas Jefferson quote regarding that "to end poverty it must be made uncomfortable"

He also said he feared our banks more than a standing army.

    Parents, parents , parents.
    It all starts at home.

I think that is the best point made. It's become acceptable to do nothing and live off your parents or the government, almost most smart. Why work when you can play video games all day and goof off all night 24/7.

For all the girls and women out there, if you have a bum for a boy friend or husband, cut him off. IMO

I somewhat don't agree. Eight kids in my family from the same parents, some ambitious some not.

We used to have a neighbor who was a 3rd generation welfare recipient. She told people she had a job, the government paid her to take care of her children. She let her kids defacate urinate in the yard and never maintained anything but a steady stream of men coming and going in and out of her place. One day she heard me chastising on of my kids for something they had done and she called Child Protective on me. As the social worker was standing there talking to my child and me, one of her kids walked out in her front yard, copped a squat and pooped. He the pulled up his pants and walked back inside. I invited the social worker to have a seat and just watch for 15 minutes. During that time her daughter urinated in the front yard and a guy showed up for 10 minutes and left. What did Child Protective do? That's right, nothing! PS my child told the social worker that Daddy should have done more than yell for what he did and then proceeded to tell her all we did together. Charge on me was dropped.

WF Bank (We'll F***ya Bank) is the #1 upseller in services of any bank in the world. When you put your money with them and cannot afford to meet their minimum balances for decent treatment, they charge you for everything. I worked for them for 10 months before I finally told them where to go when they wrote my up for passing a kidney stone and having a heart attack on days I was scheduled to work. But they looked for ways to scam customers out of their money.

From what I see in the public housing sector there is no "family". There is a single mom of multiple kids with multiple dads. Remember, these people are bring rewarded monetarily for having children. Having children is an income source for these young single women. It doesn't matter who the baby daddy is as long as he can get her pregnant. With each child comes more money.

This is exactly right. That is what is happening in Europe now. The riots have started due to the governments having to cut a lot of the entitlement programs.

Cut them off. If they riot and destroy property, arrest them or shoot them as we would someone who riots today or tomorrow.

I agree Germ it starts at home, but that statement solves nothing unless we begin controlling who can have kids (welcome to China folks). It does start at home, but you can't force someone to be a good parent.

The system is broken. As pointed out before, it penalizes those for working and trying to make ends meet...and rewards those who choose not to work at all.

I'm not for only cutting back welfare either. Farmer subsidies and crop insurances that are offered basically for free? Cut them out. I know several millionaire farmers around home that lost half their crop this year and when asked if they would cut for silage and replant beans to try and save the season? Nah, its covered under insurance whether it makes yield or not.

Cut out loop holes and exceptions to taxes so that we can keep the rates lower and flat across the board. Have kids? So what. Mortgage? who doesn't. Everyone pays the same (lower than the current rate mind you) and it eliminates reasons and ways of cheating the system.

I work in healthcare. My father works in managing dozens of Social Security buildings. My exposure to both leaves me little hope for the future of our country on our current path. It no longer is an embarrassment to receive welfare and something to try and work out of, it is a badge of honor to get your free money.

I work at a township and every thursday we open the food drive stock piles to familys that need it. I have been working there for almost 5 years now and you will get mad when a guy drives up with a new Lexis or a mercedes benz worth more then my house. They pull up and open there trunk and walk in with nothing and leave with a car over loaded with food. AND THEY ALWAYS SMILE WHEN THEY LEAVE!!! It just sucks seeing that all the time.......

I like the idea of 'work for welfare' - like the CCC camps back in the day put the unemployed to work, if you are on welfare you do community service to recieve your checks. I also like the idea of drug testing to. BTW - READ the book("Atlas Shrugged" - and Ayn Rand wrote a couple other good ones as well) the movie won't do it justice.
