Played on the same soccer team in like 3rd grade was the first time I met her. Didn't really get to know her until after highschool though. Come to find out her grandpa lives 1/4 mile down the road from me.
Still waiting for a certain person out of NY (Buffalo area) to fess up about how he found his first in a catalogue and picked her because she came with a patch kit. But I don't want to take the wind out of his sails, so I'll let him tell you about it.
My wife is my best friends sister. Met her while we were hanging out at his house on summer in High School. 5 year wedding anniversary is 6/21 and this October it will be 10 years together.
Met mine at the local archery range after I left military service. I had joined a league to get more practice as I was new to archery. When our teams shot against each other, she was my opponent. The VERY FIRST thing she said to me was "are you on the top and I'm on the bottom?" Well, what can a guy say to THAT? Only problem was she was dating another guy at the range. After that, I kept running into her at different places. At bars she would always ask me to dance and hang out. A couple times I gave her a ride home and she would kiss me good night. I figured that she broke up with her boy friend so I asked her out. After a couple months, she asked me if I was looking for something serious. When I said yes, she responded by saying that she would have to break up with her boyfriend. YIKES!! I had visions of my 5'6" 145 pound frame taking a major beat down from the 6'3" 215 pound boy friend. That was back in 1988 and we've hardly spent a day apart unless one of us is on business travel.
I met my wife at a neighboring small-town street dance. She was there visiting her grandparents. That was 26 years ago and every day is still like the first dance. She is amazing.
They barricade off each end of a street and set up a beer garden and a band or DJ. Usually, they are held as a fundraiser for a local fire department or charity. People from surrounding towns come to support the cause and have a great time.
We used to work together and were really good friends. She left for another job and we always kept intouch. We met up one day a few years after she left my company and we started hanging out more and more and it eventually became an Awesome Relationship. We have been together for nearly 11 years.
Kind of, except it's not held in a neighborhood. It's usually on a town square or other business type district.
