What are your closest shots on Big Game? Treestand and/or Ground...

From the ground, closest was my first buck at about 8 yards...What a thrill!

From treestand I would guess my closest have been 6-8 yards from my tree...although doesn't feel as close when you are up in a tree...actually prefer them from 15-20 yards...due to angle and movement/noise of drawing.

Overall Average on whitetails would be in the 18-22 yard range.

5 yards from the tree and I was only 7ft up when I shot my first buck with the bow...I don't know how I did it...We had a staredown going until he couldn't figure out what I was and walked into my shooting lane...I was hunting on a fence line with crp grass in front of me and corn behind me...He was in the first row of corn!

I shot a doe from the ground once (on my way to stand) that was 3 yards away.

Closest shot from a treestand==1-2 yards straight down (poor shot decision but it was my first deer/buck with my bow). Closest from the ground was around 5 yards.

Funny you ask.. Just last year I judo chopped a booner from the ground.... Took him out in one whack.

Couldn't enter him in the contest here because it wasn't a bow kill

I shot a buck that was right under me once I was only about 10 feet up, I could seriously jumped on his back and knifed him. lol On average my shots seem to be right at 18 yards.

ground blind - about 15 yds.
tree stand - I had to lean out far enough so I didn't stick an arrow into my stand platform!

I shot a buck that was 3 or 4 yards from my tree. Arrow hit high next to the spine and exited out the sternum. Only got one lung and it only went about 20 yards after the shot but it wasn't an ideal shot by any means.

From the ground, I shot a big doe with a .30-06 from about five yards (while on the ground, wearing blaze orange) When she first came around the others side of the tree I was leaning on, I could have poked her with the barrel. I also shot a deer last year with my shotgun at 11 yards (again, I was on the ground wearing blaze orange). (maybe I should wear blaze orange when I'm bowhunting)

Bowhunting, from the ground... I shot at a decent buck that was only 10 yards from my ground blind and my arrow went waaaay over his back. To this day I don't really know why... only that I suck. :(

My average bow shot distance is 12 yards. (if I remember correctly, I know I figured it out once)

My closest shot was 23.5". I had to shoot straight up as I was lying in a pit blind. It was an extremely tough shot because I had to remain at full draw until the deer came. I couldn't just lay there with the bow not drawn because I would have risked having the deer spot movevent as I drew the arrow down into the pit.
