Like any problem it just takes $ to fix. I spend $50 a week on deer feed.

I plant soybeans and the problem this year seems to be either no one else planted them in my area or the huge amount of rain has stunted them a bit. There are quite a few deer using them already so I'm thinking that is the case. 2 1/2 acres don't go far in high density areas. I planted turnips over the top of them for the first time. So we shall see how things go from here on out.

Well what I spend feeding the deer is cheaper than the feed and bedding and supplements her horses each week so I can pull it off.

Plots were lookin pretty good. Planted some iron clay cowpeas/ buckwheat and turnips. Beans were starting to get weedy since the browsing was opening up the bean canopy. Had been a month since last milorganite was put on so hopefully since I put more on they'll stay outta them for a lil. Couple apple trees were bearing apples after only being planted for 2 yrs

I went out and weeded a little yesterday and hit the perimeter with round up. Starting to prep for planting peas and fencing off the plot in the next couple of weeks. Apples are getting close and some acorns are falling so I think the deer will be distracted enough to leave the fence alone.

[IMG]slowly but surely alfalfa is coming up. We have had good fall temperature here for the last few days maybe a week so it's grown good the last week or so

Local feed mill. I had to stop by and break the news that I would not be buying bags of woodshavings, fly spray, etc only deer feed.
