I'm talking about moisture. Is the whole state of Illinois this dry or is it just my area? I believe this is the dryest hunting season I've ever seen. Streams and creeks dried up, firefighters have made a few runs to put field fires out caused by a cigarette or farm machinery. Making for tough hunting here. Lost my old river hunting ground a few years ago, always saw a ton more deer in the dryest seasons along the river.

In St. Louis here, and it's quite dry here as well. We're not seeing creeks/ponds dry up, but we're not seeing much rain. Just means concentrate on water and you'll find your prize :) Good luck.

Yep, pretty dry here too, which has allowed the farmers to get all of the crops out of the fields. I don't think there is a corn stalk left standing in IL right now.

Lots of acorns tho. The deer are in the woods.

There is still 30 acres of standing corn behind my house....and its the only standing corn in my immediate area. The farmer that cash rents my ground lost his combine to a fire last week. I hope he gets someone to shell it soon, I'm tired of looking at corn. The only good news about this dry weather is, I haven't had to mow for a month.

Except for the 2,000 acres that butts up against the woods I hunt.

    Seriously.

Never fails... no matter HOW good the conditions are for getting the corn out... mine's ALWAYS the last to come out.

Very dry in SW Michigan. Small creeks and normally wet low areas are dried up.
