I live in East Tennessee and hunt hard dense woods and I have now started to clear this small area and was wanting to get people's opinion on how I should go upon creating this setup.

    Thank you,

Some pictures of the spot, or an aerial, would be helpful. Also what are your goals? What are you wanting to accomplish with the spot? I grew up hunting just across the line in wnc. You may have several options

I focus more on creating good bedding areas first than food locations depends on a lot of things but the biggest I always pay close attention to are: closest large food sources and access/exit routes.

A food plot in the middle of mature woods will do nothing unless deer feel safe....check out hinge cutting and if you can or desire to log the woods for money log them now and than start making it a whitetail heaven.

I do not have any pictures of the small plot right now.. I will get some this weekend and the area I am hunting has miles and miles of nothing but hard woods and I know there are deer all over the mountains..but finding them is the problem and I would like to try to maybe draw some of those deer in... It also has a spring that runs straight down beside it..

Keep hunting. Walking and scouting. Learn the woods and what the natural food is. Find the trails. Find the gully. I hunt a mountains area too and they are there. U just gotta put in the hiking time...
