How about this for a mainstream Country singer?

I dont know if I would go as far as to say that he is THE worst, but I dont particularly like him. I will admit though the dude can straight up play a gutar or banjo, I do envy his picking skills.

Yeh, if he would sing "Country" he'd be alright, But I'd pick Flat Rascals over him anyday:d :deer:

Err... the more I think about that would be a tough decision...

Maybe I souldn't say the worst, I don't mean to degrade the artist or his talents, That wasn't my intention.

    It's just not Country.

(and I corrected the title accordingly)

I'll even go as far to say I like his song "Stupid Boy".

That song he put out way back when, it was like Where the Blacktop Ends or something like that, it was one of my top pics at the time.

I actually like Kieth Urban. Just because he doesn't sing about drinking whiskey, flying down a dirt road, and going to jail doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be on a country station.

If you want to see someone who doesn't need to be on the radio, look no further than DARIUS RUCKER :mad1:

Boy, there is always two things I say when these topics come up, and Paul knows what they are. Unfortunately certain words are not suitable for this site... Nashville sucks, and so does New West (record label)

Since one of the largest Country Music Fetivals (WE FEST) is held where I am from I have seen a ton of country bands live.

The best concert I have ever seen there in about 20 years of attendance was Keith Urban a couple years ago.

+1. He is an incredible guitarist and, in writing his own stuff, he deserves a lot of respect in my opinion. Personally, I don't have a problem with any artist who came into the industry playing country and has continued to do so. Now, on the other hand, those cross-over gigs like Jessica Simpson or Darius Rucker really, really annoy me.

You guys are a tough crowd.

Seems like you aren't "country" unless you are some obscure artist who hasn't made it big.

    George Straight isn't big?

Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean... they're Country(to me) and They're big.

It's all personal preference and nothing more.

Exactly what I think. I would like to know what some people think is "country". It doesn't have to be song about long days out on the range and coming home to find out your woman left you.

I went to a concert,if you want to call it that of keith Urbans when he was just starting, there was maybe 75 people there that a radio station put on.He is very engaging of the fans and told folks to scoot up to the stage cause it was our town he was just visiting! He took time to shake everyones hand after he played and signed autographs and spoke to people at length and didn't just rush through. There are still a few folks like that and have the telent he does,if it has a string he can play it very well...he's a great entertainer...flat out!

I just like listening to an artist who actully writes his own songs, not having some1 write a song for them and sing it. those people are singers....not artists and no not every song has to be about working all day coming home to your wife. i just dont jump on the bandwagon like evry1 else. you listen to the radio and its the same peoples songs 3 times each hour and it gets digusting. not trying to make any arguments or hate any1 its just my opinion
