This might be an old trick I just found out about. But if you are using hot hands and are done hunting before they are cold you can put them in a Ziploc bag, remove the air and zip up. When you're ready to hunt again get them out of the ziploc and shake like normal. They will reactivate like just out of the package.

Can get 3+ uses out of one set doing this if you get the ones that last 10+ hours and you're only hunting the morning/evening not sitting all day.

I learned about that years ago while hunting in Alberta. I usually max mine out when I'm hunting anyway.

I sat for 4 1/2 hours this morning using the six hand/body warmers that I used Tuesday morning and sealed up when I got in. They were still hot when I got down at 10:30 this morning.

If you sit for 4 to 5 hours at a time then you'll most likely only get two uses out of them, but it does save quite a bit of money.

Cool tip, but honestly, for all the more the things cost I just throw them out at the end of the day. I usually hunt all day, or morning and evening sits so trying to use them the next day, I would have to use new ones anyway. At the beginning of season when Walmart has those huge packs for 6 bucks, I buy 4 big packs and it usually gets me through the year. One of the best 25 dollars I'll spend each season.

It is a chemical reaction the contents of the packet are oxidizing. Just like the fire triangle remove o2 and the reaction stops.

I wonder if you vacu-sealed them if they would last even a little longer?

They might but I doubt that it would be a noticeable difference. Add in the cost of the vac bag....probably a wash on money spent.
