I don't know about anyone else, but I'm experiencing some serious wear on the bristles of my hostage pro. After about 100 shots, they wear out to the point that my arrow flight is affected. With brand new bristles my field points and broadheads are dead on out to 60 yards but with the worn bristles my broadheads hit low. Anyone have any ideas? Worn and new bristles... notice the difference in height where the arrow would sit.
Those bristles wear that bad just from the shaft sliding? Are your fletchings hitting the bottom bristles as your arrow goes through?
Looking at the photo.... The area that the arrow rests on doesn't look all that wore down.... The ware looks up higher. I think your blazers are hitting the top edges of the "V". I think this is because of the small diameter of your axis shafts. There isn't enough room between your hen vanes for the arrow to slide over the "V" without contact.
Normal arrows :d From the rear side of the bow.... Look down the shaft like it is a monocular.... Sight the hen vanes and the bottom bristles..... I bet they will "overlap".
It almost looks like if you took the bristles of the worn one and pinched them with your fingers back to the original place, it would look brand new.
Goldtip Pro 55/75's. I think the real problem was the wrap passing over the bristles. I liked the concept, but they wore down to the point that my arrow would angle downwards when nocked.
Dubbya, send an e-mail to Pat through the tech support contact portion of www.bowtecharchery.com and it will be forwarded to the appropriate person(s) and we can get you some new replacement bristles coming.
Thanks Greg, I actually did that and they sent me a couple extras... I was just curious as to what may be causing it.
I was looking at a Hostage Pro rest in a store last weekend and noticed that they include an extra bristle in the package. I was wondering why. Now I understand:d I don't think they should be wearing out that fast, who knows if it is just your set up or the product itself. I think on a regular whisker bisquit the bottom bristles are stiffer than the rest right? Maybe they should adopt that concept for these rests, too.
