Nice job!! With posting it on the score page be sure to follow the rules for posting or it won't count
So my weekend went well. Hunted sat night opening day for a few hours after work. Had a small 80 inch buck work through and he got a pass. Sat morning I had two small 50" deer under me for about 30 minutes that I had no intentions of harvesting. Three nice does cam in and must have busted me but before the last one could get out of range I was able to take a shot. Hit her right in the shoulder and got very little penetration. Maybe 2". She crossed the dry creek right under a hunting buddy that informed me she wasn't hit deep enough. There was not one blood drop that we could find. I feel confident the broadhead didn't make it through the first bone it hit. Hunted that night and didn't seen much of anything. Hunted Monday and busted a big deer in the morning. I saw with my flashlight at 20 yards he was nice. Maybe 120" the rest of the morning was slow with just a few fawns being the most of my action. Took a break Monday night to spend some time with the fam. This morning was action packed Busted a couple deer out on the way in and had a few does bust me around 8:30. At 9:00 this doe and and small dink worked their way right under me and at 20 yards I was able to take a good shot. She ran 60 yards and fell. Verrrrey hot hunting this weekend but that's the cards I was delt.
. Haha. I knew I'd catch crap. It was pushing 90 degrees. I had just gutted and dragged her 100 yards uphill. I was soaking wet from head to toe and had to use my shirt as a sweat rag. I was in a hurry because I didn't want the meat to spoil. I'm sure I haven't heard the last of this hahah
Congrats Mckaxx, if this shirtless thing catches on we may have to change our Team name to "Bear" Chested Horn Hunters
Well Fitz got the scorecard updated and we're officially in 1st place now. Let's keep this thing going and stay in the lead for the entire season!
Hey JZ, have a quick scoring question. Your buck has forked G2's on both sides...do you not count those forks since they're technically deductions? Do you measure from where the G2 starts at the main beam and use the longest point of either fork? Never shot anything with forks or a non-typical. Thanks man!
A mulie is scored different than a whitetail. The forks are considered G3's on a mule deer. On a whitey they would be considered abnormal points. So you score the one that forks back as the G2 and then the forked part as the G3. On a mule deer the H3 is also scored below the fork of that tine instead of on the main beam like a whitetail. I had to look it up on the P&Y website because I was unsure what to do. For purposes of gross score we're not worried about deductions.
