I definitely don't want to be team captain so count me out. We need someone who is good at trash talking without going to far. Monster Raxx has got a head start on it already and I'm expecting him to be dropping in soon.

Come on. Just because he's hasn't got a buck in a while doesn't mean he was completely scoreless, he's got some does. If you want to see someone who has been scoreless that would be me.

Lester can talk all the smack he wants. Dude can't kill a buck unless it's with a gun at an Iowa outfitter. :busted:

That would be great if we can slay some bucks. I'm hoping to get a shot at the seven or that ten point that show up during day time. I have a question about scoring. If you get a doe first does a buck still count for the full score if it's over 50?

Yes, your first buck is what is scored....you can get your 50 points for a doe at anytime or 50 point for your second buck no matter what he scores.

HAHA! Some great deer he has taken out there though, gotta give him that!

Hey JZ, since we were on the same team last year and I watched you both on the podcasts and through out our team thread while you were chasing Bacon and hopping you would catch up to him I have to ask...what made you pass the torch on to Todd?

Kind of a long story. Lease was up but landowners were graciously allowing me to stay on for another year. However there were lots of new rules regarding when I could hunt, where I could go, how many stands I could have, etc. Having 3 or 4 other farms to hunt I opted to go elsewhere where I can continue to hunt my way and not have to worry about stepping on people's toes. No hard feelings and I appreciate the offer, I just prefer to have a little more freedom. Todd is good friends w/the landowners and has that freedom so he'll be in there hunting as hard as ever.

Well pulled out the recurve to do some 20 yard shooting just now and found I am still pretty dialed in for not shooting since May on my hog hunt. Then 3 arrows into my second 7 arrow set I split my own arrow. So on a high note I'm dialed in still for being instinctive shooting no sights and I split my first arrow, low note I just made that dang arrow wrap and all and now I'm out about $8. Ahh well.

Here are a couple of the buck at the top of my hit list this year:

Spider (as named by my 4 year old boys)

Nice clean 10 (no name yet)

    Crab-claw 10

Twin Towers (only picture we've gotten of him)

I'm hoping any one of these buck walk out in front of me at some point this season, and with only a little over 3 weeks until opening day my excitement level is through the roof!!

Thanks guys! I'm just hoping that I can get on one of these buck early while they're still holding somewhat of a summer pattern. If not, then I guess I'll just have to hope they come by during the rut...either way I'm hoping for a good outcome this season!

My buddy sent me these guys from one of our farms this morning....not too bad, but still out and about at night. He said he's getting good day time pics too so I'll ask to see if he can send over any more. Usually I am out there with him helping with all the scouting and hanging of stands, but this summer I have had to take it easy after breaking my ankle in 3 places last February. Still not 100% and in a good amount of pain at times so he has picked up the slack... thank god! I have one more spot I will be putting a camera on this weekend as well.

I hear ya man...That was our plan this year too, but NY hanged laws and regulations and its Doe only until October 15th where most of our hunting areas are. Plans have changed some now...stick to areas with high doe numbers and put up 50 points as quickly as possible and stay out of the areas where the good bucks live. We have some good older bucks on two farms we hunt that we have some history with, so with staying out of there hopefully we'll still be able to catch up with them on the 15th or soon after. Never is easy though! haha
