Anyone have any luck this weekend??

I know 5 different people who saw shooters on their feet last night before dark. They were definitely feeling it!

I had one small buck sneak behind me before hours on Sunday morning, but that was the only deer I saw all weekend. Scrapes and trail cameras were blowing up with deer mainly late on Friday night into Saturday early morning, just went back to their beds before the sun came up. I'm hoping another week and they'll start responding to calls a little more and be more active during the daylight. I'm off Friday thru Monday and will be in a stand everyday!

Saw a shooter, but no luck with him. He was 75 ish yards out half hour before sunset on Saturday evening....Grunted, snort wheezed, and bleated... he could care less. He was a toad also big ol'body on him also, never seen this deer before. That afternoon walking in we also looked down the powerlines when walking in and saw another buck probably 110-120" walking the trail then cut into woods after about 120 yards...things are def heating up here. Saw a couple young bucks starting to chase some does around. And found a few more scrapes that are starting to get tore up. Heck of a weekend for you, huh?!?! Congrats brother!!!! :tu:

Let's go boys! What's the update out there?? Another cold front moving through tomorrow should make for a pretty decent weekend.

Saturday I'm making a trip back to the leases looking for my 2nd buck to cap off this amazing season. Sunday I need to hunt local b/c I have some trick-or-treating to do with the kids in the afternoon. Between those 3 farms there's 5 bucks I'd really like to get a shot at. 4 of them are larger than the one I shot already. The last one is a "management buck" with poor genetics we want to take out of the herd. He's a 4 year old and we don't want him pushing our good up and coming 3 year olds off the property. He's a high priority target despite his 125" rack.

I haven't had the opportunity to get out much as of late and when I have I just am not seeing anything. I'll be out more this weekend and hopefully will have something to report. I am also going to the annual Camp Ripley hunt near Little Falls Minnesota next weekend, always a chance at a good buck there.

Nice! Camp Ripley produces some monsters. I've always wanted to do that hunt.

I think they recommend 5 turns which is about 10lbs. When I got my reezen the limbs were turned out 7.5 turns and nothing is wrong with the bow. I'm not sure if it's safe to do that with a newer bow because I think the limb bolts are shorter.

I might get out this weekend but I'll be going for another doe. I still have to see if anyone would want to party hunt so I can get a chance to get a buck.

Well i took my 5 year old out yesterday for her first time ever. We hunted a standing corn field that bordered up to a hay field. At 610 a doe finally came out for a 40yrd shot. I pulled back and made a good shot. My daughter was beyond excited and could not wait to find the deer. We searched the field for my arrow which i never found and picked up a very heavy blood trail. I threw my daughter on my shoulders and We immediately took up the trail as i knew blood like this was a certain kill. It was a blood highway going through the cattails and within 50yds we found her. My daughter was going crazy and was so excited and i was excited for her as well. I dragged the deer out and she held the flashlight for me while i gutted the deer out. She immediately called her mom and had smiles ear to ear talking about it. It was the best hunting experience of my life and she did a fantastic job through out the whole process.

No to the bad news, with all the excitement i didnt get the photos needed to count. I do have one photo but lacking my bow or me in photo. Here are a few photos from my night uploadfromtaptalk1445471714562.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1445471786937.jpg

I'm not sure. The only thing I know is they recommend no more than 5 turns out.

I honestly have no idea. I would call your local Mathews shop and see if they know. I'm typically shooting between 65 and 70 lbs so it's not something I've ever looked into.

Nice job man! Stinks about the photos but there's a bigger & better story here than our little contest. Getting your daughter out on her first successful hunt is something neither of you will ever forget. That's what it's all about. :tu:

Rattled in a nice buck this morning and shot him at 9:00. Gave home two hours and pick up the trail. Was on him for about 300 yards where he crossed a road. We backed out and took care of the Doe a friend had shot. Got back on blood at 3:00. 400 yards later we found a bed empty of deer and full of dry blood. Net could find where he left the bed. Pretty sick

Sitting out here tonight in a blind because of the rain. Also got a buck decoy out in front of me on a food plot that has scrapes all over it. Hoping they'll visit this spot a little early tonight since it's pretty dark already and should be an early night. Good luck to anyone else out tonight!

Thought about hiring a dog to help you track?
