Should I hold out for a buck or just go for the first good deer I see? I haven't got any deer for a while so I want to get the first good deer that walks in front of me but the other teams are catching up quick and it would be nice to stay in the lead.
Shane, I think you should do what you are comfortable with and not worry about team score. This is for fun, if we win great, if not we still can have fun.
I agree with the team! This is for additional fun with us doing what we already love doing, just remember that and enjoy it! Shoot what makes you happy and good luck!!!
I've seen some does and a fawn come through behind this old train car we have on the property. So today I had a idea and here is my 5th spot if I can't hunt the other four I have. I'm not worried about ruining this spot since I can only hunt about 1.5 acres so this is my backup or my lazy day hunting spot.
Up in the stand now. A lot of action early but not much now. So far I saw 4 does, 2 fawns and a spike that thinks the rut started. I didn't think he would be chasing does around at this time but maybe it's because he's young.
I've been in the stand since 5am and haven't seen a thing. Gonna try stay all day. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
Not 2 minutes after my last post two does come out and I put one down! In about 1 hour I should have some pictures. I'm so excited I can barely type.
Well despite my perfect shot the deer didn't bleed just like the buck I shot last year. Rage will be getting a email.
Nope. About 300 yards of little specks of blood then it stopped. I could see the hole where I hit her but it was just a hole not a gash like it should have been. I thought my first one was a dud but then it happened again. I'm not happy with rage broadheads and will get some NAP'S tomorrow.
I saw a doe and her fawn this morning in shooting range but momma got a pass today, next month momma won't be so lucky
Shane, man that sucks but is one of the main reasons I'll never switch to mechanicals...there's always that chance that they won't expand like they should. Hopefully you get another crack at a deer later this season!
