seasons closed and these guys come around! I took my first bull this year but he was not like the one in the pic. Great white tail, great elk, I love Idaho! Most of the state is Mulies, but this little pocket has white tail all over.

Well at least you have a few nice ones that made it this far. Hopefully They make it thru the winter and will be there for next season.

exactly. I'll be throwing feed out over the winter and feed plots come spring. 3 buck just under the big one in the pic all made it.

That's great, you have your game plan set all ready for next season, what are your plans for the feed plots?

I'm still researching seed, but I have a two acre plot that funnels into a smaller plot. I plan to plant the 2 acre early season, then the "kill plot" later in the year. Where I'm planting gets a decent amount of rain so it shouldnt be much of a problem, I'm just trying to nail down something that attracts deer and elk. the reality is that time of year bulls will stay higher up in the forest so I'll be focusing on white tails but never know. Any recommendation on seed?

I have no clue for elk, or even whats good for your area. I would go to different food plot companys websites and do some reading I guess.

I am making a big push my self for next season to get all my food plots planted. I do no that Tractor supply company is clearing out a lot of the food plot seed right now, so if you have one close now is the time to stock up.

Yes Sir, and you are RIGHT it is freakin sweet! we are 2 miles from the state forest and they walk through our property all the time. on our trail camera that is 100 feet from the cabin we've got elk, deer, turkeys, coyotes, and a bear in the last 6 months. my wife didn't think the bear was too great but my boys and I were pretty excited.
