This 6.5 year old buck has been showing up in daylight in this particular spot all summer. Our season opens next Saturday. With any luck we can at least lay eyes on him.

Hope he does but I think you know better than that. Nocturnal the day before hunting season.

I like your chances, in velvet and you are onto his feeding pattern. Now just figure out where he is coming from or going to.

Go through all your pics of him there and make note of sunset time compared to capture time. Days are getting shorter.

Can you get in and glass from a far and safe distance to see where he's coming from before season starts? Check winds at the times of previous pics and maybe glass a few times with different winds. See when and where he comes out with different winds.

You know where he feels comfortable now, will all change in a few weeks as bachelor groups start breaking up.

Still in velvet. I hope he sticks around for you but he should be shedding it soon and common for them to relocate long way away

    Dandy buck tho!!

This bucks summer and fall range is normally 1/4 mile away from where he is now. This is the first time we have seen him in this area in the 4 years we have known about him. My gut says once he sheds he will move back to his original area.

Good luck! Your next photos should be of a wall mount.
