So, I just ordered this saw, after dealing with many frustrations of branches getting in my way, and spending so much time having to "snap" them. I was using my father in laws Gerber saw for a little bit, but that doesn't have the extend-able capabilities that this one has. It is on it's way, and I will write a full review, with a video demonstrating my use for the saw, and how great/bad I think it is.

I have both the 5ft and 10ft versions of this saw. Great saws!

I've heard nothing but great things about Hooyman. When I finally replace the Gerber, it will most likely be with one of these.

I love my five footer! I never go hunting without it. I haven't picked up the ten foot one yet but really thinking I will soon.

Hey PT, I ordered both of mine here from BHC, but the 10ft took a long time to get because of backorder. I got the 5 ft last year pretty quickly.

Got the saw guys, UPS is great. 3 days shipping. The saw works flawlessly, I will write a review, and post up the video of me using it later. Eders has 50 in stock right now, preacher tony, you can go there, use paypal, or your credit card. Great company to deal with, go HOOYMAN!

I got the 5ft last year. I think it the greatest thing yet for trimming. The 10ft would be nice to have for pre-season trimming. I think it would be too big to carry in a pack on a regular basis.
Isaiah, I don't understand why your's didn't cut well, mine slices like butter.

If you have an early Hooyman, they have since changed the tooth pattern on the saw blade.

You can check by just looking at your saw. The old teeth are not offset left / right. The new blade is. If you have the old blade you can get a replacement blade.

Scott's correct - the new blade is MUCH better than the old one.

And for what it's worth, I gave my 5 foot Hooyman away to a friend after getting my 10 footer. No need to have both and if you can only have one get the 10 foot - you'll thank me later. The 10 foot version comes with a shoulder strap which is all you need to carry it. I've carried my fanny pack, backpack w/camera gear, stand with sticks, bow, and 10 foot Hooyman out into the woods with no problem.

With that said, I love my 10 foot Hooyman. For hanging stands quick and on the go you can't beat it. HOWEVER, there is still no replacement for a good 15+ foot saw w/pruner. There's times when I really wished I had mine with, but had to make due without.
