Just finished the final touches on our home office. Ever since we've moved here three years ago, we've never really had a central location for bills, paper work, office supplies, etc. We decided to turn our smallest bedroom (we don't have kids yet so it doesn't matter sacrificing one bedroom) into an office. Wife picked out the colors, I designed and built the cabinets and desk. The cabinets turned out alright...I'm picky, but seeing as they were the first set of cabinets I've built, I'm satisfied (and the wife is happy). The desk was simple, relatively cheap, and very sturdy. It's just 3/4" Melamine resting on two file cabinets we painted white, and attached to a furring strip on the wall as well as base storage cabinets underneath along the seam. All of it is trimmed out (top of cabinets and face of desk) in matching pine. Sorry for the crappy quality pictures, as I took them on my phone. Angles were too close for my DSLR during this project. I ended up modifiying the corner cabinet from the original design to include doors for the top section, and an open section on the bottom.
Thanks...I think:D Thanks, guys. I actually wish the wall color would turn out better. It's like a light/aqua blue (my wife makes all these calls). I wondered what Hooker would think?:D
Nice work on those cabinets. Can't really get a good judge of the color for the walls from those pictures. At least you went with something other than beige though.
Yup, kind of an odd corner to work around with a keyboard. Straight across top would have worked better maybe.
? Not trying to be rude, I just didn't understand what you mean straight across the top? The keyboard will be wireless and will sit out wherever I need it to be. Unless you mean actually sitting in the chair in the corner.
