I have been ground hunting all day. Saw 3 does this morning off at a distance. Found a fresh scrape a couple hours ago and have been sitting off of it since. Will more than likely spend the rest of the evening here hoping something comes to check it.

In my blind where I had that encounter fri with the wide 8. Same conditions lets see if he shows. Also had does in my turnips again when I got here they were in the plot at 3:15. I just can't get to this spot early enough.

Didn't see anything this evening. Was hoping something would check that scrape but no dice. Oh well, hopefully I can catch up to a buck soon.

I am taking my son out to western Nebraska and see how he does sitting in a ground blind. I have a couple of good spots so hopefully we see some activity. It will be his first time truly hunting with me. He has spent some time in the rifle blind but that's a little different. Either way it is quality time hanging out.

Alright quick little overview with turkey foot this year. here is a lay out of my property. Yellow dots would be stand locations. blue X's are where I have been getting pictures of him all year so far, Pink X is where these pictures are with also a food plot and stand right there. Red X is the neighbor stand, last year he ended up hitting turkey foot high above the spine, guy kinda gets on my nerves since he doesnt play the wind and gets out late kinda your joe smo guy. Where these last pictures are is were i was getting pictures of him until the neighbor got the shot then he moved over to where I am getting most of the pictures this year. Really hoping he just went for a midnight stroll over that way. That is the only location I have to worry about another hunter.

Where do you think he is bedding? Any close to daylight photos this year...almost appears he's running that Eastern tree line to or from a bedding zone he uses some. That small wood lot on the NE part of your property thick?

    Doe down this morning !!

I've been passing them for a while now in hopes of shooting my buck first but time is slipping away . Went to a stand this morning just to shoot a doe and put a little meat in the freezer . The stand had already been burnt out (something I claimed we wouldn't do this year :)) so I thought it best to shoot one there and then we'll give that stand a rest till rifle season .

Kind of got to thinking while I was there , that with the wind in the wrong direction for that stand , me sitting it this morning might make everything head south to feed this evening ...... we'll see how that works out later .

I'll get my score entered right after I get her taken care of .

My guess is he is bedding in the corn on the south east. The only close to daylight picture was by the stand along the corn on the east side. The wood lot to the NE has some thick patches in it but other then that pretty open. Im guessing he is going to that wood lot for acorns then going back to the corn. There is a pretty good rub right inside the wood lot that I am guessing he made from the size of tree. He just threw me for a loop with the location of these pictures and of corse the two cameras on the east side died a day after the last pull so not sure if he was over there at all to. We have a nice cold front moving in for the weekend so I think Ill let the cameras sit for that and make a pull next week and start getting a game plan together. I will be in ohio the 23-26 then work for three days then off again Oct. 30th- Nov. 9th divoting most of that time on him.

Uhhhgg! I wished I was off work again this week...lol. If anyone is hunting, hope your having the best luck. On another note. After the release of the 2015 PSE & Hoyt bows. I think I'm more than likely going with a Hoyt again around April or so. I love my Faktor 30 and won't ever let it go, just thinking of trying the new Carbon Spyder ZT. I still wanna shoot the new PSE Premontion HD and Dream Season Decree first.

Well , we went and checked out the new property last Saturday...... and man do I love Goggle Earth . I had already picked out one spot that I knew needed some attention and I was right . Really wish that a good buck hadn't been bedded right there but bumping him a week ago didn't seem to have too much affect on him (these deer haven't been hunted in a while) .

I went in this morning to glass from a distance , try to figure out which direction he was entering his bed from , and bumped him again . After deciding that he wasn't coming from the direction that I wanted to set and enter a stand from , I headed back to the truck in hopes of maybe catching some late movement on other parts of the property . I was just about back to the truck (9:00AM) and he was coming down the outside edge of a tree line . This was probably a little over a 1/4 mile from his bed so I doubt that this will have much affect on my ability to hunt him . It also showed me another area that I should try to focus on and I just got back from setting up a stand there .

I think that after 2 visits I've got him pinned down but I will know more in the morning !!!

Good luck to all of you this weekend !!!

I ordered 220 gallons of heating oil today. Got quoted for $2.78/gallon. Went ahead and filled the tank at that price. :)
