That is absolutely awesome man! Sounds like some folks will be able hunt that weren't able to before. That's what it's all about!! GOOD STUFF!!
Here's what 5 mins of handy work got me. I think it's gonna work well. I was worried at first that there may not be enough foot room on the platform. After hooking it up there is plenty of foot room to stand comfortably. Not a bad free stand, IMO, we'll minus the $12 (2 year old) stool and a ratchet strap I'll be securing it to the tree with. What do y'all think?
I feel like this was my "final" for my redneck engineering course. Haha. Unfortunately I only have an associates in it. Lmao
Be sure and watch that wood over the years . Between the rot from weather and the Squirrels eating the glue out of it , one of them legs will eventually go through when you sit down . Looks like it should work though
Yeah I wasn't planning on using this for more than a single season. I will definitely be taking it down at the end of season if not sooner. Don't plan on it being used or sitting in the same spot for a lengthy time.
My buddy called earlier and informed me that he found the top half of the climber and that I could have that also. He told me that it would need a new seat though because something chewed the old one all up. I already have a climber that I use that would be good for my girlfriend for next season. I'll end up using this API GrandSlam climber as it is intended next season and let the girlfriend use my Ol'Man Multivision. :D
Your telling me!! At least I was able to get a little bit of my fix last week. This weekend I am going to check cams at the lease and move a stand across the street. Following weekend is the early doe season for us, weekend after that is Ohio Opener, then our season opens up
Made it out to the lease yesterday and checked/ moved a couple cams. Glad I went out there though cause it looked like a tornado went through the area. I just moved a stand to what I was thinking the perfect spot and the tree the stand was in snapped off right above the stand so no I have no cover in that tree. I hate to do this so close to season but I gotta go out there with a chain saw this weekend and clean up a few areas from down trees. Also gonna help out the farmer and clean up some trees that blew down in the fields.
BTW nothing good on camera. Just does and small bucks, a few of them have shed there velvet but thats it. Thinking a lot of the deer have been hiding out in the corn very well. Waiting for the beans to turn so then they will hopefully start hitting the green food plots
Went up to farm today to check on a few things here are a few pics of food plots. Millet for ducks Corn field will be left up all winter Mega plot mix Also have 20 acres of beans that will be left up for deer forgot to take a pic of it.
New buck showed up on 2 of my cameras I was leaving the property feeling good about the upcoming season and excited about opening day which is just 5 days away. Until I stopped and talked to the farmer who informed me that the river is going to rise 10 more feet by Friday which mean everything I just posted will be under water. Got to get up there tomorrow and pull all my cameras and ground blind.
Sorry to hear about that Mo Bow . It's sure not looking good for anyone that hunts any bottom ground ..... for the early part of season anyway . Not really sure how much rain we had up here but have been hearing 10+ inches from everyone . We have 1 property that is already under water but are still lucky enough to have several that are out of the flooding . Might have to rethink our routes to some of our stands till it dries out a bit but we'll be able to hunt . Hope your water goes down soon !!
Oh man... hope your plots don't get drowned out. I can honestly say that, IMO, the best thing about not having plots is that it's less for me to worry about. I'd hate to have all the work, time and money invested in food plots and have to wait in anticipation hoping nothing wipes them out.
