Oh here are some past shots. The picture with numerous ones are over the last 8 or 9 years with the solo one being last year's harvest:

To be honest boys getting does for those with doe tags is the easiest way to supplement scores with some serious points. There has been years where teams have taken bucks but no does...and not win. Also no one hold out for a bigger one just for this contest, I'd love it if everyone downed a buck and a doe...that would be awesome if no one eats tag soup and gets a doe as well (or 2nd buck).

Well, got a mock scrape set up today. Honestly the first time I've ever tried it...so we shall see.

What kind of location? What scent(s) did you use? Near bedding or food? Type of tree?

Sorry my hunter brain never shuts off...questions questions questions.

I only asked what type of tree because I like to log whatever scrapes get liked by the deer and whether natural or mock...no biggy at all. Be awesome to see if they like it!!!

My mock scrape actually originated as a natural scrape. I found it last season and kind of took it over and the deer kept coming and checking it.

Tylan which of the forehead gland scents do you prefer for the licking branch? I have yet to use one of these and am curious as to which have shown the best results for you. I know you said Buck Fever Synthetic in an earlier post.

So I was watching a video a while back and they were using a kind of bungee tree strap with their climbers. It seemed pretty neat. It had a kind of bungee type thing in it that grabbed the tree, you could open it and move it up as you were climbing in the climber. Seemed like a super easy and safe system for climber use, just open, move it up, and let it go. Do any of you guys know what I'm talking about or what it's called?

That is the stuff I'm trying this year...however I'm a big fan of Smokie's Pre-Orbital gland scent as well and have used it for years and we still do. Smokey?s Buck Pre-Orbital Gland Lure | Smokey's Deer Lures

Stuff is more honey consistency and I just dip the branch (trying not to touch it) tip into the bottle.

Finally got all caught up from your guys busy talk on here lol
Wasnt able to get on here much last week. Ended up getting a ton of fluid in my lungs so was busy with Dr appt and getting plenty of rest for most of the week. was feeling better by Friday so ended up going to a 3d shoot by me saturday and sunday. Saturday Me and a buddy ended up taking 3rd in the x factor shoot.
Noticed a lot of talk about mock scrapes going on. Last year I tried something different, I started them off with a scent dripper then switched to using my own factory urine. To my surprise I had a ton of activity on the mock scrapes with our hit listers even using them.
Going to be a busy week with trying to get everything done around the house and all my gear together for next week. Sunday is the depart day for Colorado. :tu:
