Just curious how everyone gets ready? If they do anything unique? I have 2 levels of decking I shoot off of as well as the ground once in a while. Sometimes I'll stand on a chair on the top deck to simulate most of my stand height. I'm a coward I don't go above 15.[IMG][IMG]

I get ready by going to 3D shoots and shooting in the back yard. I don't have an elevated area that I can shoot from at my house or I would

I shoot from the ground until August. Then once dialed in I have a stand in a tree that I use. I just don't use it all year because I'm too lazy to climb down a thousand times

I shoot to 30 yards on ground on the side of my house. In my backyard, I shoot off the deck. With the slope of the backyard, shooting off the deck puts me right at 20 feet elevation. I can shoot out to 25 yards elevated in the back.

The 2nd pic is from 30yds

The last pic is from the target... if I get on my neighbors retaining wall I can get to 40yds.

Good thing is my yard slopes down really well so it's almost like being in a treestand and shooting from an elevated position.

That's a great way to practice!!

I used to have a similar setup when I owned a house.

I now rent and I am lucky that I can shoot in the back yard up to 30 yards. There's a nice straight tree I can use my summit viper in and get up about 20 feet to shoot out to 20 yards.
