Had the stress test Monday which I kind of failed. Checked into the hospital yesterday at 7AM. Had a catherizaion done. 2 main arteries 90 percent blocked. One had repaired itself by building other vessels. Stent in the other and I feel great. Just got home at 2 on Saturday. More damn meds to take.
Glad to hear you caught it in time, now quit letting yourself slide. Really glad to hear some good news ol buddy.
I tell you... I lose faith in the medical profession more and more. I've been having all sorts of problems mostly with AFib. These doctors did every test imaginable for my pains... except a stress test. So the week before I left for Canada the Cardio guy(I've been to 3) says, yup, we're going to give you a pace maker when you get back from your fishing trip. I said, well before we do all this.... I'm just asking.. I know you're the doctor. But don't you think we should make sure everything is alright inside first. He says, well we checked your valves and they're working fine. I said, you know I've had a stent in the past... what about my heart arteries. He says, "What... do you think you need a stress test". After I picked my jaw off the floor I said I just would like to make sure everything else is right. So he agreed and set up a nuclear stress test for Monday after I got back from Canada. Doesn't make you feel real safe in the hands of the experts does it.
Glad to hear you're feeling better! As for the medical profession..... well, I work in the medical field and there's a reason I avoid doctors......
I'm still trying to find a doctor that has perfected medicine rather than just practicing. Glad your on the mend!
Good to hear that you were able to diagnose yourself and convince them of it. Best of luck in your recovery.
Well, it's been 4 days. They said lay low for 3. Saw the doctor this morning. He said go for it. I did a power walk with my brothers dog for about 3/4 mile tonight. No problems.... Felt great except for my hip by that's a different thingy.
Time to put on some waders and go fishing. We stock our baby salmon next Saturday. It will be a good test. Lots of walking, wading and carrying 5 gallon pails of little fish to their new homes. I'll warm up the muscles for the rest of the week so it won't be a total shock to my system.
GREAT news David. Getting those arteries opened up means more Oxygen for fun! I am very happy that you will be able to do some fishing and rekindle some of your energy. My dad just had his second stent put in three weeks ago for a 90% blockage. He felt so bad prior to the surgery he was having trouble seeing. He feels a lot better now and I really hope we are able to fish together this fall. He also has two cataracts that need to be removed.
Dang man...Glad you caught it in time....WE know when something just doesn't feel right...If it wouldn't have been for you knowing that you may not have been able to make this post...Here's to a speedy recovery!!
