Spent Saturday in the stand until noon. All the while I was shedding layers as the morning went on as it was close to 65 by the time I decided to climb down. Forecast for early this week has highs in the 70's, with Wednesday being 78! Man, this has me bummed. Guess the only saving grace is that its supposed to really cool down at the end of the week. I just can't get myself too pumped up when you can bow hunt in a t-shirt.
I just got back from Meeker Colorado. We were hunting over 10,000 feet. We only wore glove on the atv's. Hunting in t-shirts by 10 in the morning. It really does suck.
Hell yes todd, I'm getting pumped for the end of the week forecast, things should be back to normal with highs in the 50's and hopefully the winds will die down. It's getting close to halloween boys and girls, time to let the monsters out!
Yep, like was said, the end of this week is looking good! I'm SO hoping I get a good SW or W wind, and I'll be hunting hard.
Might have a shot at that W wind. Unfortunately for me, things are looking more W, NW on Friday/Saturday.
I hate the warm temps this time of year, but oddly enough I've had a good bit of success on these types of days. I'd still prefer frost
What ticks me off is that we had a hard frost that killed off my green beans right before this warm weather hit so I'm not even getting an extra growing days. Guess, I need to get out of gardening mode and go into full hunting mode.
Looks like the forecast for here in PA this weekend is going to be awesome. Lows in the 30's in the morning and 50's by afternoon. Rut weather!
Oh I do not complain! Trust me Id rather live in a colder weather state. I hate hot weather!! My favorite day of the year this year was in January when it was 30-35 all day long, snowing/sleeting all day and I was on the water duck hunting!! Thats right snowing and sleeting in FL!!
Went out tonight, sure enough, saw deer. Doe, one fawn, and a spike. Also saw my tall 8 point in the pasture on the way out again
