Lynch's Irish Pub, one of my favorites. Or Skinny's on Ana Maria Island.

50 mph gusts here today. Blizzard warning in effect starting at noon. Temperature isn't terrible though.

One of the electric heaters in the front room crapped out during the night woke up to a 55 degree house. Hope to get the new heater installed and the house back up to temp before the off peak kicks the heat off at 6:30. The older I get the more I dislike winter.

If you ever want to visit a low key non tourist spot not too far from Sarasota Emmerson Point is pretty nice, cool place to launch kayaks or fish or just hang out by the water and explore the beach.

To give you a little perspective, we will be almost 100 degrees colder than you. Your 80 degrees is starting to look pretty good right now.

I don't know how people in very warm spots can take it being warm all the time. 70's in January? So basically it is between 70 and 100 all year round? No thanks. A little variety and change of seasons is nice.

I can not imagine those temps. I was born and raised in south Fla, I did live in VA, Hamptons Road area for 3 yrs, but we only had a little snow once out of three years. We did have a big pain in the a** ice storm that shut everything down for a few days, but that's it.

The funny thing is, you do get used to the temperatures. As long as you dressed for it it really isn't that bad, also poisonous snakes and alligators can't survive here :-)

I have lived in the south now for almost 35 years and the one thing I do miss is the change of the seasons...all 4 of them...lol

I have to call you out on that one there are actually two poisonous snakes indigenous to MN and both are rattle snakes, while not common they are there..I suspect they are only in the southern part of the state though..

Timber rattlers here in the bluff country in southern Minnesota, and our bugs are just as bad.

Being able to work outside and not sweat is a wonderful thing.

We have rattlesnakes but I'll take them over mosquitoes, ticks and chiggers. :)

It is nice during the winter to not have to worry about deer ticks, deer ticks will be out before the snow is melted.
