Both are great sights but I'll cast a vote for the King Pin!

I think the King Pin is a better all around sight. It has some features that make it a no brainer for me. I shoot a dovetail CBE Vertex for target and a Tek Target for hunting because I don't view a hunting sight as "that" important to me. They all do an excellent job. Honestly, if I was buying a hunting specific sight, I don't think I would buy the dovetail. I don't see it as something that's needed. This is coming from a hardcore target guy that shoots a 15" front bar and 12" side rod on his hunting bow.

I run a 12 front and 12 back on My Wake on My other bows I run 12 front 10 back. I ordered a Halon-5 and was thinking of going 15 front 10 back, what kind of weight are you running on your set-up? I know it's up to the guy shooting the bow but I would like to get a starting reference?

Quiet surprised, I woulda though hogg father would have been more popular, it's not a price issue - they both are about the same. Besides the extra tape holder, what features do you like on the kingpin that isn't offered on the higg father?

I run a 15" up front with a 4oz disc and a 12" side with an 8oz disc. I've ran as much as 12oz on back with other bows. This is on a Chill X. The Chill X is more neutral balanced than the Wake of Halon 5 or 6. I would have to probably run a 3 to 1 ratio on those bows. I like the longer bars. The difference in the 15" and 12" in comparison to a 12" and 10" is unbelievable. It's worth the somewhat awkwardness

As far as the King Pin versus Hogg Father goes, I just think the King Pin is more well thought out. They're both great sights.

My Boss hogg weighs 12.5/13oz. I don't have a King pin, but when I looked into them spec weight was 13oz

All things aside the pins on the HHA seem to gather more light. I have shot the Boss Hogg in the past and the pins on my current HHA stay lit past legal shooting hours plus you can get the XL ring and that fits perfect in my 3/16 peep at full draw. My opinion would be the HHA

I've tried the hogg father and king pin, I liked both but liked the hogg father a tad more. I like the longer dove tails, forces you to learn to hold the bow steady. Price was an issue for me so I started comparing the tommy hogg and hha ultra and went with the tommy.

I picked up the hogg father today I already have an hha ultra light on a different bow and while I dont have any issues with it, I wanted to try something different. It took a little time learning how to adjust it all, but like anything else, once you figure it out, it's as easy as anything else. I'm happy with it, no complaints... The HHA pin is brighter though, but I don't think it's a huge difference, love the dovetail, got that thing pushed all the way out..
