This fall I'm going to be going hog hunting. What broad head should I use? And has anyone had any good guides?

You will get several answers here. It depends on your setup in my opinion. If you have a decent amount of kinetic energy personally I would shoot any head that you can shoot accurately. I have taken hogs with Spitfires, Killzones, Rages, Slick Trick, Muzzy and so on.

If you have a light setup any quality fixed bladehead will work. The QAD Exodus flies fairly well and is pretty tough.

Good luck and remember to take plenty of pictures to share.

Anything on small hogs. Big boars are tough to kill. We cleaned a 190lb boar that had two other broad heads in him.
I use a 125gr two blade Magnum Stinger at 67# with 682gr Easton Dangerous Games now.

The trick is find the soft spots. You'll never get any penetration shooting through the shield and it's even hard with the angle from a stand.

    Where are you hunting? wI?

My choice was Magnus Stinger Buzzcut's for my hog trip. I can't give you a review of how it worked since I never got the opportunity take one with my bow. I did like the way the flew out of my bow while practicing though.

I think they've got hogs there:)

I haven't tried it but they say a broad side shot to the neck is great as well. 1-2" below the bottom of the ear.

We shoot them all the time with mechanicals and fixed blades. You cannot go wrong on any size pig with razor sharp c.o.c. broadhead...Again I have killed them with 2" mechanicals as well as 1 1/8th fixed. If you wait for that quatering away shot and tuck behind the shoulder either will get the job done. That shot is even more important on a big boar. You can get through the shield with a mechanical on a big one but you better be throwing some pretty serious K.E. at it with razor blades.....Even then don't expect a pass through.....

Try KuduPoint The hog below was taken with a 125gr. and Easton FMJ 29.5" from a Hoyt Faktor 34 @ 67lbs.

Did a great job on a 200lb+ boar this past Sunday

Hit behind right shoulder, broke a rib, took out both lungs, heart and exited the left shoulder. Ran 20 yards and went down.
