Anyone done any hog hunting down south, maybe Texas area using an outfitter? Girlfriend and I are looking to go kill some groceries this spring for vacation. Just wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations for a place. Or can ad some insight into things to watch out for.
On bowsite they talk good about Shiloh in oklahoma. Never been there, I did go to bowhunters paradise in SE oklahoma and was alot of fun. It is since gone under new management so I can't say to what its like now. They are tough animals, and are a fun challenge to spot an stalk
Why is this not free? Given the number of hogs I hear that exist in the southern US and the many troubles they have with them , they should welcome people who want to kill them... seriously, why is this not free? T
I'm here in Texas. Never been with an outfitter but I kill over 100 a year off my 40 acres. There's plenty of places down here to kill a hog. Tons of public land that's covered up with hogs. "Live Life at Full Draw"
Definitely a lots of hogs here in the south (MS, TX, LA and AL). Lots of public land also. I do know of one outfitter in AL that does hog hunts. It is Great Southern Outdoors in Union Springs, AL (just south of Montgomery). They have lots of hogs (some really big boars) as well as coyotes. I'll try to find the name of some more places and will let you know. Just Google Texas hog hunts and you'll probably find several.
