Upon reviewing a distribution map of feral hogs in the Piedmont region of NC, there seems to be an abundance of hogs in the south-eastern part of Johnston County and I was wondering if anyone has ever hunted any game lands in this part of town; Pine level, Princeton, Micro and can attest to the hog population. I'm not fond of hunting game lands, but since I don't have or know anyone that has property in that area, this may be my only option. Furthermore, throughout recent years, I have learned that most people and/or farmers aren't very fond or trustworthy of young adults like myself hunting on their properties. Any help or advice would be very appreciative. Thank you in advance,
bump...Im curious as well. Would love to know if there is decent public land hog hunting in NC...or anywhere east cost really. Could make for a fun affordable off season hunt
cmonsta, I spoke with NC Wildlife last weekend at the Dixie Deer Classic and the reason I wasn't able to find any game lands in Johnston County was because there aren't any haha. However, they said there is a high hog population near/around the Brunswick County area - coastal and right on the NC-SC border.
