I am looking at doing a hog hunt this spring or maybe next spring. Has anyone been to a guided place down south anywhere and had good luck? Not looking to break the bank, but looking for a place with a basic lodge etc. I get tired of all the snow up here so just looking to try something new. Appreciate any help.

Oh and it doesn't just have to be a bow only hunt. I just want to shoot a couple piggies.

i got a couple bookmarked on my home computer ill post up later. one of them is in south alabama. they do a weekend hunt, lodging, food, etc. for like $500 bucks. and its all the hogs you can shoot. i think they do it 1 weekend a month and you have to reserve a spot.

We went last spring to a place down in Oklahoma. My father-in-law killed two and my wife killed one. I was trying to bowhunt and did not get one myself. It was a good time, but I won't really recommend the place we went to. The food was not good(at all), the lodging was decent, the guy running it was a bit nuts. It was about a 60 or more acre preserve. You would think spotting hogs in that small of an area would be easy, but in all honesty it wasn't. The trees all had branches almost to the ground, so there was no real visibility. They were smarter than you would think, and avoided the feeders and hunting blinds completely. I would do it again, but would try a different outfitter.

The pork was delicious though :)

Ive talked to a couple guys down by the San Antonio TX area because I was looking to go south as well and didnt want to break the bank. They said that they have such a problem down there that you could drive around and knock on farmers doors and they would be glad to let you hunt. Good luck!!!

This spot is a huge amount of fun.

We're goin back in March, lotta pigs, lotta chance's with a bow.
You can take a gun, but less chances of multiple kills.
The guide is great, decent trailer to stay in.
And a blue collar family of three can afford it.
42 days til we go back:)

I went to Wilderness Hunting Lodge in TN last summer, and I thought it was decent. The people there are very nice, and the food as good. The only thing I didn't like was the stands they want to put you in. Not good for bow hunters. You can still hunt though so that's what I did. I didn't get one though. All I saw were little ones.
