What do I need to do to go on a hog hunt in TX. I am from Iowa and want to hunt something different. Is there a lot of public land that have a lot of hogs? If so help me out. I am wanting to do a hunt this year.

in some parts of texas especially west texas there are a ton of hogs that need to be killed and there is also a ton of public land here so im sure that you could find some to hunt im not sure how out of state licence works or if you even need one just check texas parks and wildlife website

Soccerdan, Karnak is correct there is quite a bit of public land in West Texas but it's not an adventure I'd recommend without someone that knows the place. It's really big and has the very real possibility of being a very disappointing hunt. You can find information on public land here Texas Public Land. I would definitely recommend finding a ranch that has hogs and either paying a daily fee or doing a full blown "hog hunt." With a little research you can also find land owners that have hog problems and will let you hunt for a small fee.

I'll see what I can find for you. Also, you can go to Oklahoma which is obviously closer, has a LOT more public land and you don't need any license at all as long as it isn't turkey or deer season. Lots of pigs there too...

No problem man... give me a couple days. Also, placing an add on craigslist in OKC and Dallas may bring you a ton of responses.
