Anybody watch the outdoor hockey game this year? I think it's one of the best ideas the NHL came up with. Just a chunk of ice stuck somewhere with bleachers around. Last year they were playing in a snow storm this year it was raining out. It's like watching them play when they were kids. Shovel off a pond or part of a lake and lace em up. I know hockey is dying (for some reason), but I think it's a really cool idea and would like to see more of it. Actually that was the highest rated regular season game since 1975

yeah, it is a great idea. It is definitely a gamble with the weather, but it seems worth it to the NHL. I live 5 minutes from where the Sabres played the Penguins a few years ago. It was great for the economy also.

I think it's one of the coolest events in all of sports.

I was disappointed, this year, ONLY in that it was played at night. I know there was a reason.....but, if you're going "old school".....it needs to be played in natural light (if at all possible)!

    GREAT tradition they've started.

I agree too. I'm a casual hockey fan, but find myself watching more and more each year. I watched the outdoor game this year and thought it was pretty cool. I will watch it next year too.

I love the winter classic. It was cool being down there just to soak up the atmosphere (I didnt have ticket to go in, just watched at a nearby bar) Yea the weather didnt fully cooperatethis year, but it was still a great spectacle.

I don't know hockey or watch it but I followed all the stories on this. Has to be one of the best ideas/events in sports.

I can't figure that out either. You go across the border into canada and it's like a religion up there, here I can't find a Minnesota Wild game on TV until I subscribed to Fox North, even the local news don't even cover the NHL highlights or scores. Sad really.
