Well, I would not call "dieting" or "lifestyle changes" necessarily hobbies, but outside of these issues we all share, what else are you interested in? I like to do some genealogical digging. I have become more interested in history since my son has been getting older. As a family, we have enjoyed going out and exploring our home state. You never know when you may have to relocate and wonder "I wish I had done that while I lived there". I also like to scrapbook. I am a bit behind but I still have my things organized and ready to pick up where I left off.
Watching and or playing sports (mainly basketball). Gardening, food plotting, habitat management. Sort of hoping to get into geocaching as well
I've thankfully weeded out a few hobbies. All I do now, is hunt, shoot competitive archery, fish, and play basketball or sports in general. I used to be a big golfer (played 4 years of high school and had a couple small offers to play in college) but I've only played once in the last year and a half. I also like a to camp, and shoot guns too.
My kids sports is the biggest now. I used to huge into motorsports. I raced oval track for 10 years and did demolition derby for the last 25 yrs.
Beyond hunting and shed hunting.....mainly just fishing. Because of my work, my life revolves around the outdoors.
Bowhunting, trapping, martial arts, fitness, fishing... used to play tennis at a D-1 competitive level and won about every tournament around a multi-state region... I'm coaching a boy's basketball church league this winter, and I still write a monthly column for a national archery magazine in addition to various pieces for Field & Stream and others. That doesn't include my actual very stressful job of medical sales for a Fortune 500 company... Oh yeah... somewhere in there I'm a husband and father, too. And I wonder why I'm getting bags under my eyes?
Too many. Hunting and archery are the big ones. Not to mention what branches off because of it (wildlife management, making trail cams, scouting, etc). I'm going to be flyfishing this spring for the first time. The good thing about that hobby is I have the summer off, so until I have children, I will get as much time on the water as I wish. I'm an avid photographer, I dabble in graphic design (which is also a result of my photography), and after drooling over HBTV, I really want to get into the video end of things, but probably won't. I'm also very into home remodeling/general construction. Since I bought my house in March, there has not been a time when I'm NOT working on a major remodel. Adding lots of value to my home, while saving tons of money not paying contractor's to half-a** the job:D
Hmmm... Music. I love everything regarding music. Writing, composing, practicing, and recording (multi-track all by myself). Drums/percussion/digital drum track Bass guitar Rhythm guitar Lead guitar Keyboards ..and if a piece calls for it - a horn section (trumpet, trombone, sax).
that's pretty freakin' awesome, Butch... Our high school band director was like that; he could pick up any instrument in the band and play it. I was amazed. Still am. By the way, his son is David Nail who has a top-20 hit on the country charts right now: "Red Light." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXdIcgueM4U Pretty cool some of the musical talent that's come from good ol' Kennett, Mo., population 10,000 ... SA-Lute! (from the Hee-Haw days, if you're old enough... ) Went to high school with Trent Tomlinson, who was our high-school basketball coach's son who had the big hit "One Wing In The Fire": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiwSIMQb9r4 And of course everyone knows Sheryl Crow who graduated a few years ahead of me. By the way, I didn't drink from the same water they did apparently...
Hunting, fishing, shooting, reloading and watching college and pro football. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle and fourwheeler anytime I get the chance.
