Just came home from work to hop in the shower and head out to hunt this afternoon. On my way I drove past my land to take a peak. I saw a GIANT 10 pointer cruising across a hay field heading towards a swail lot and actually saw him bed down (something to be said about midday hunts during full moon by the way). I have a stand in the exact corner of the field he entered. The wind is NNW which would be perfect for this spot. You don't suppose do ya?:p What the hell, it's worth a shot. p.s. if you havent' seen the video of Todd killing the 192" you should watch it..... very cool stuff. Carbon copy of what's going to happen with me tonight (except for the 192 inch part:p)
Good luck man. Buckeye and I were there to see what happens at midday stand. We had a shooter buck cruise through at 2:20pm on Sunday afternoon. It'll happen man, stay at it.
Well sad to report ..........no sighting of him, but what an action packed night. Might be the most deer I've seen on stand in a long long long long time. From the moment my butt hit the seat of my stand to the moment I climbed down it was a parade of deer. Nothing really great as far as bucks, but oh my god there were a ton of critters roaming around.
If I would have followed my gut on a particular day earlier in the season, I would not only have had a shot at my first bow deer, but my biggest buck ever according to my trail cam.
