I am tired of getting pelted by the wind and cold while sitting up high. With the wind chill factor being at 25 degrees or below all day tomorrow and into Wed, with 15 mph winds and snow, I decided to set up my climber down in the creek bottoms which have some pines for cover. I noticed several well used trails running in and out of my shooting lanes. I have been hunting on hillsides all season long and it has gotten boring. Time to change it up tomorrow! Good luck everyone. Heres to anyone making a change up in their strategy for fun!
I don't blame you. The wind has been downright brutal around here lately. That's a feature I really wish we had more of on my parents property. Good luck!
Thanks guys. It looks like I may have been off as to where the does were mainly bedding. Although I saw three bucks over three days, I did not have any steady action. I should have seen more if I were truly sitting on a well used doe bedding area. The tracks I saw today were fresh, and lots of them were leading into the thick creek bottom cover. I also found three scrapes on the other side of the creek, 20 yds from my stand. Looking like 1-2 inches of snow in the morning....UP at 4am to hunt all day and kill!
I like it man...the little streams in the valleys on our property are pretty heavily used...should be good for ya...good luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
You got this man... and hey, if it's one of those big bodied small racked rat head bucks.... well you know what to do.
Aaron, I am going to stomp some antlers into the ground tomorrow. You would be proud....hunting a creek bottom between two reclaim strip pits. I can't get enough of them!
I would have loved to had a few more sits at that creek bottom in OH... I'm feeling it for you man. Kill!
Love creek bottoms and so did this buck after he got smoked with a rage 2 blade. He crossed the creek right to my stand. Shot this buck last weekend.
