THIS TIME I HIT HIM PERFECT! He came down a field edge and walked 10 yards in front of me, I waited for him to get past me and took a quartering away shot, hit him right behind the shoulder, perfect. Feels good! I wanted to thank all of you again for the help and positive comments, I got back at it and have been hunting pretty hard because I still had some pics of good bucks in daylight. I was hunting on my uncles land and snuck in Tuesday night with a climber, never hunted on that side of the woods before, but at 6 o'clock this buck stepped out of the corn and was eating on soybeans. He came in perfect, offered me a shot, and the rest is history! He's not as big as the one I hit earlier, but he's still my biggest buck yet and I'm super happy. Especially because I have a little boy coming November 4th, so who knows what the next few months will hold for me! And here is the video, completely filmed with my iPhone and tactacam stabilizer camera https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjPFsHkafBk
Good to see you got yourself pulled together and got a nice buck down. Congrats and best wishes on the newest addition to the family!
Great job! Way to stay calm - pick a spot - and make the shot! You can't overlook staying calm and making the shot! Congrats!
Way to come back and score big on the redemption!! Way to get it done! Congrats! And congrats on having a boy on the way too! Absoutly awesome story and awesome buck as well!
Patience..I waited a little longer to draw so I wasn't holding my draw back forever getting to anxious to shoot. I waited for a nice quartering away shot & open shooting lane. But the key was just staying patient and not rushing anything..
Thanks everybody! Here is a pic of the entrance. I'm shooting the killzones and on the way back out the arrow pulled out a chunk of lung...some pretty nice damage and easy blood trail..
