What do you guys think of this?
I wasn't there and I don't think the driver should of driven off but I get people walking out in front of so much that I expect it now. They just seem to think you'll see them and your BETTER slow down.

Again, I don't know the case here but its dark out so you can see the headlights of the on coming traffic so.......?

I never saw a surveillance video on a near by store follow a guy down the street until he gets hit. Then it follows him back up the street after he gets up. They do amazing stuff with video editing these days. Something is not right here.

Whenever I see someone getting ready to pull that on me and thinking their going to make me stop because they decided to walk across the road, I always act like I'm looking around an not paying attention and they always step back on the curb:) It's funny.

I'm glad the guy is alright. Hopefully no long term damage. Person in the car clearly should have called for help and stuck around.

Amazing how he managed to live this long without knowing how to properly cross a street.

This is a touchy subject for me.
I had a friend killed by a hit and run driver, while walking along the side of the road to pick up his girlfriend's daughter after work.

And working in the city with pedestrians supposedly having the right of way I see too many people almost get creamed, including myself, by a guy who pulled out from a dead stop, as I plainly stood there in the crosswalk as we BOTH waited for traffic to clear before proceeding, fortunately he jammed the brakes & I hopped out of the way. I never ever trust a car already in motion to stop. They almost never will.

Very sorry to hear about your friend. Stuff like that of a person dying so unexpected is really heart breaking.
Those side walk get me though. We only have a few around here so you never get used to them, so when a person just steps out in front of you your first instinct is to lay on the horn but then you realize it's one of those pedestrian walkways.
Myself, I don't put my life or health in anyone else's trust. I wave them through and don't walk behind car with their reverse lights on. And riding and walking along a road I will usually go against traffic so I can see them.
