    Is Mr. Mass alive?

I have no idea, while hunting I checked a camera and it had 300+ pictures on it. This weekend I am going to swap the card. Will see

That's odd... I find few big ones.... But a host of small ones every year with a decent one or two thrown in. I only found one shed from a mature animal last winter / spring.

Yeah, getting to know a buck is pretty cool, and I have killed several that I had an extensive history with. Its a big motivator for me personally as a whitetail hunter to get to single out a few bucks and hunt them. But hey if some buck comes out of the woodwork during the rut that I have never seen before and is something I am excited about shooting, I have no problems with that either.

I think it's in the shed hunters style of searching.

Justin is much slower a walker.. keeps his head down more.. and is very deliberate when he meanders.. he is always picking up the smaller sheds.. that I just seem to pass by.

I walk very quickly... searching 10.. 15.. 20 yards out from myself and picking off sharp objects at further distances. Most my antlers average about 40-45".. which I don't consider small. Average sized deer really.

Justins average is like 20-25".. which I consider small.

I just have trouble finding these because of how quick I walk and scan the woods.

When I do find a small shed.. it's usually after I just about step on it.. and I've stepped over a few too.:(

I definitely think it's cool to develop a history with a buck. Since I've moved around quite a bit the last 10 years it's been difficult to develop any continuity in hunting spots, but now that I'm a little more settled I'm starting to build that history again and it sure is fun. Right now I'm watching a buck that was a little fork horn with 10 inch spikes last year as a 1.5. As a 2.5 this year he is a 14 inch 6 point with a goofy curl on the end of his right beam. I can't wait to see what he is as a 3.5 if he makes through this year as a legal buck.

I have never got a straight answer on this...

IS there any PROOF of MR. Mass...or is it just a "figure of speech" for a "big buck".

    Honest question :o

The only proof is the picture I have which I believe to be his off spring. I know I have posted many times I have no pictures of him. I just bought game cams this year.

I've had history with two deer in the last few yrs. The first was a nice 10pt as a 2.5 yr old, as a 3.5 he was an even better 10 this time with a kicker off the right g2, we named him kicker 10. The trail cam pics of him at 4 were impresive, the same as 3.5 only larger. I was pumped, this was the year to get him, no more waiting. The second weekend of bow season my buddy arrowed him for me. He pulled up and said I " I got Kicker 10" I was proud for him, but in the back of my mind I was saying CRAP,CRAP,CRAP! My balloon had been deflated.

The second is a 1 eyed doe. I've been seeing her for three yrs as well, and I just can't shoot her. I think we have an understanding...lol

Siman this is the deer I believe to be one of his off spring, note the mass at the curve in the main beam. This is still a young deer, I hope to get a look at him soon.
