I don't hunt with my quiver attached, so I don't have it on when I practice. I have a hip quiver that I use when I shoot 3D, so I will wear it when I practice.
LOL nope. PVC is pretty cheap so it was inexpensive. I just hit with a can of black rattle can once it was done. It is about 2-3 years old and it holding up well, it stays out year round.
When I started hunting with a bow I started with the quiver attached to the bow. I didn't know any better. I like it on there so I just leave it there. JMO.
Nothing wrong with leaving it on there. I do a lot of spot and stalk, and having it detached just isn't an option. It also saves me from having to find a place to put it when I'm in the stand.
I'll use the Mathews quivers but I attached a loop to the top of them so I can also clip it to my backpack if I want and still be able to reach back anytime and grab an arrow. Kilboars Hunt Club
I use both depending on situations. I don't hunt with a quiver on my bow, but I use a bow mounted quiver to carry my arrows to the woods. For backyard shooting or 3D's, I use a hip quiver. SCFox
I've never shot with an attached quiver and I'v never used a hip quiver. I detatch my quiver from the bow and have it hanging separately in the tree (or blind). They get in the way in my opinion, it's less I need to worry about when trying not to bump my stand or branches.
