    SPYPOINT IR-5 Digital Surveillance Camera

Bushnell 8.0-Megapixel Bone Collector™ Trophy Cam

Cuddeback® Capture 3.0 Megapixel Scouting Camera

Here are a few of the higher rated cameras at outdoor stores. I realized the Reconyx is the best out there, but I am trying to avoid paying $500 for a camera. I've only had one camera, a Moultrie, and that was a waste of time and money - so I refuse to buy another one from them.

Do you have any experience with these cameras or suggestions? I will be setting it up on trails and only be able to check after 2- 3 months.

If the overwhelming opinion is to go Reconyx, all 5-star ratings, then I guess I'd find a way to make it work.

I have had a couple of the cams you inquired about, the 2010 Bushnell and the Cuddeback Capture. The first Bushnell I had, had issues but the replacement has been much better. It's night pics still leave alot to be desired. The Cudde was a complete disaster and I would not own another one. I also own a Reconyx and nothing else comes close. If you don't want to spend that kind of money, the new DLC Covert is looking good.

    Blessings......Pastorjim

Here is the dealer locator from their website. http://www.dlccovert.com/dealers.html
I also have the HR8.0 too but that model is no longer available. DLC has completely recreated their entire line up trail cameras. I recently ordered a few CA3.0s ($129.99) which now run on 4 AA batteries and takes an 8G SD card. The cams I ran last year ran over 6 months before changing batteries and they were not dead yet.

There are dealers on the web you can order from. http://www.monsterraxx.com/

Ive got 7 of the bushnells and love them, never had any issues... i do leave the 8mp setting on 5mp so that the night time pics arent as blurry. When left on 8mp they tend to be blurry. They take GREAT pics and have FAST trigger spends... I would buy two bushnells if your going to be running trails, rather than 500 on a recoynx. I know the recoynx is the best but for $139.99 w/ free shipping on ebay you can buy 3 Bushnells..... Just a thought..... cover more ground! Plus my batteries last all year except when it gets bitter cold.

I will probably order one this week. Can't wait to get it out in the woods.

It'll be a while before I get pics back. I am headed to WI to put them up, I bought two. I'll put them out before the GTG and then head back to WI in August...maybe. I live in MI, and have some relatives that farm in WI. I am lucky enough to hunt there. They're the nicest people you could ever meet. My hunting around here stinks...rarely see a 2.5+ older buck.
