Its kinda funny how you get that feeling sometimes that you just know something is gonna happen. I have hunted long enough that I can sometimes reconize that feeling and, as I was walking in this evening I actually told myself, Im shooting something this evening I can feel it The sign in this spot is unreal right now. Im between two high wall strip pits that create a very handy pinch point, from there it gets nasty and the bedding starts. Behind me on a long gradule grade is a standing corn field. After settling in two mature Does show up but they are where they usually dont travel. I had one 40 yard shot op but turned it down. At this time my phone is vibrating in my pocket :D Its Siman08 and as soon as I told him of the Does, I look down and a 6 point is standing there looking for, where minutes before I tiped the can at the Does to try and get them closer. He stayed for 15 minutes and walked off. Now i get a text from Greg/mo and Hunsucker with some good news from them, Ill Greg tell of that Minutes later I here something where the 6 went into the thicket. It turnes out to be the Doe that I have dubbed the Highwall Hugger. I have two stands 30 yards apart and everytime I hunt the other ,she comes in but stays on the very extreme edge of the High wall and If I fling an arrow and get a pass through its good by arrow into the strip pit below so I usually pass on her. Well tonight I opted for the other stand, and as usual she came in but was just almost to the High wall, I had a shot at 32 yards. The luminoc lit the way and found its mark. She made it 30 yards before collapsing. I WAS going to stay in the tree and hunt for horn until dark, but I got to thinking that If I seen no shooters I would be dragging her out about the time one of the Big boys are filtering out around Dark, So i climbed down and got her out before I may have ruined a Good spot. She is a heavy weight, and I was drained for the pics after dragging her 150 yards for pics.
She's a fatty, congrats on a very nice doe Crick! Gotta love it when you get "that feeling" and you know something is gonna happen in a particular spot. Lots of good meat there.
Congratulations Dan. Nice shot on a nice nanny. Was waiting on the story and pics since your text. Great job.
