Yeah losing is no fun for sure. If you can explain to him that its not about winning and it helps keep you in shape and makes you a better football player (what my dad told me) then that might help. I think it does help on the football side. If and when he gets there.
Haha i love to win as well. When i was younger i run off like a little baby if i lost. Even into jr high i did a couple times The worst though was 1st round of the state finals and i got my butt kicked i ran and balled my eyes out not to fun. One thing you can tell him is that girls love wrestlers so stick with it after that loss at state i calmed down and realized i had a whole weekend to just try and talk to girls
Dont push to hard anyway. Explain how the first time you picked up a bow you sucked. With hard work and a determined attitude he can do it. Wrestling has to be the most gruelling sport and its not for everyone. My oldest sam was always so small. 67# as a 7th grader. Couldn't make the minimum weight untill 9th grade. I kept telling him. Trust me sam. Someday you will be the biggest. He didnt believe me. Now as a senior wrestling 120# he does. Make it as fun as possible. Talk to coaches explain to them. How your boy is loosing interest. Get him good i mean real good at 1 takedown. 1 pinning combo. 1 excape. Then go to work on everything else. Get him good at those one moves. Sam can take down anyone on a outside low single. He is a incredible arm barer. Ive seen state champs use nothing more than a half nelson. My 5 yr old already has a pretty good single leg and half nelson. Have him practice with someone that is patient and better than he is. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
