Well here we go again. Its sams senior year. He has a record of 67-26 over all. He is weighing in around 125ish and tring to cut down to 113. I dont think he can make it. If he can he should have a run at a state championship. Its going to be a very exciting year for him. Jake my 9th grader will be on the B squad again. Around that 145 lb. Just a littler young for that weight. The first tourney is next sat. Sam wont be in it due to some pending issues. He will be on the mat the following sat. Im pumped. Now blow the whistle. Ill keep u all posted.

Good luck to Sam this season! I am glad that he can't make the cut down to 113. I see it far to often with high school wrestlers who let weight get the best of them. High school kids should just worry about getting stronger and working on their technique. If you bring making weight into the equation it usually just makes that most of the battle. When not cutting weight you are fully energized for each and every practice, which in return makes you get the most out of each one. You can keep making gains all season long instead of flat lining. I really wish my high school coaches would have had the same philosophy. My senior year I said screw it and wrestled the weight I wanted to. I had my best season that year too. Again, good luck to Sam, I hope he has his best season yet!
Good luck with his season! I wrestled in high school at 103, 122, 119, 125 from freshman to senior year and 135 in college. It's a great sport, it's a combination of team and individual skills!
Wadena, MN born and raised there. Good luck to your son. Hope he can make weight. Love the sport. I wasn't as little as some of you guys my senior year i wrestled at 171, but still loved it.
When you graduate? Im a wadena grad also. Class of 88. Thanks for the good wishes guys. Ill keep you all posted here through out the season. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
2011 but I didn't graduate from Wadena. My mom ended up moving to Sauk Rapids. I'm an Endres if you know any of them?

Jeez how fast did he pin the kid? Thats not a good day thats a great day he dominated everyone he wrestled it sounds like.
Tee jay My son has started wrestling last year, he's seven and not the greatest wrestler. What advice as a father can you give me? I don't wan him to quit?
Germ im not a father but i wrestled since 6th grade and my advice is to try and make it fun for him still and not so intense since he is so young. Even with me having to stop sophomore year due to shoulder injuries. I was getting burnt out i wrestled hard and trained during the fall then also in the summer and it got to a point were i just didnt want to do it anymore. Just make sure he is enjoying it and dont over do it and he should be just fine.
Yes I am trying to make it fun, but lets be honest it's no fun when you lose every match. That's my issue, in tourneys he is getting beat every match and it is becoming not fun.
