I dont plan on going to my 10th, theyre just not important enough in my life. Besides, ive been tracking them on FB.
There alright. Went to my 5, 10, not my 15. Went to my wife's 15. The thing I take away from it is that, 15 years after graduating high school there are still people that want to act like they are still in high school.
I have no interest in mine. But ppl I talk to enjoy theirs...so on the fence. All of my good friends are older/younger/went to different schools since I moved away from my hometown.
We just had our 10th a year for four ago. I grew up in a small town and now still live in that town. I have many friends from high school that still live in that town We see each other all the time, hang out on the weekends still (between work and kids). So when we had our high school reunion, it was just us hanging out someplace we wouldn't normally hang out.
I agree....WTH is that about? I graduated with 464. Didn't go to my 10th, but I heard only about 150 showed up. My 20th is a couple years out and I will probably go. When my 10th rolled around, I was still kind of wandering through life. Didn't feel like I had much in common w/ all the "settled down" folks and the thought of listening to them talk about their brats over flat Miller Lite sounded like torture. Times change, I guess. I'm married now and have a career, so now all that doesn't sound so bad. except the flat Miller Lite part. Hopefully now that we're all older they spring for better beer.
My 10th will be next year, but I doubt I will go. Every time I run into people from high school that I don't really talk to anymore, it is a pissing match of people trying to impress each other about how great their lives turned out. It is kind of funny because I can see how they turned out unfolding before me on Facebook, and they aren't nearly as glamorous as some claim. The one's I care about I still talk to, and if I gave two craps about how any of the other people's lives were I would call and ask more than once every 10 years.
Missed my 20th year reunion this summer. I don't have facebook so I guess the notifications and such were sent out and communicated that way and I was left out. My friends were text messaging me asking me where I was......oh well I had to work.
My class didn't even have a 10 year reunion, which is fine because I wouldn't have went anyways. If I'm not currently friends with somebody then I'm not going out of my way to go see them. If we were that good of friends in high school then we still talk anyways.
I haven't been invited to any! My 10yr would have been in 2011. Maybe they're trying to tell me something. I don't have facebook so i really only stay in touch with 1 of my buddies from high school.
Never went to any of mine. From what I heard from other classmates about them... I didn't miss anything. Tim
I didn't go to my 10 year because I was living in Texas at the time and wasn't flying home for it but Kristine and I went to our 20 year last year. Honestly wish we would have skipped it. Boring, had no interest in seeing anyone that actually showed up and we woud have had a much better time just getting a nice hotel downtown and enjoying the city. Really hope she never wants to go to those ever again!
My 10 was last year. The plan started out as a huge $200 pp for dinner and open bar at a bar in the town we graduated in. I make good money, it turns out a lot of other people don't. I wasn't going to go. About 3 weeks before the proposed date, a message goes out from the class president "since no one signed up, I'll be at dinner that night, if anyone wants to stop by and have a drink, your more than welcome". I still didn't show up. :D Did I mention my ex was setting the whole thing up? And there were a bunch of people I didn't want to see going? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4
wow what kind of school did you go to? private and for the privileged? Im poor by no means but I wouldn't ever pay $200 for myself, I came from an average income high school for the state I was in, and no way anyone would come to that either. I could see this $200/pp happening in Socal or Manhattan or those other cities, but not many others. Not bashing rich people by any means.
coming from someone that is a junior in college... i miss high school. Of course you have the friends that you still talk to all the time that you graduated with but then theres those friend that you were close to but just never stayed in good contact with. Im only 3 years out of high school and will defintely be attending my 10 year reunion. It will be good to catch up with everybody..
