Our 10 year reunion is coming up next month and I could really care less if we go or not. The wife is all for it though. If I haven't made an attempt to contact someone in 10 years, why do I care to see them now? I already know what's going on with everybody because of FB. What was your HS reunion like? Worth going?
Ours is in a week. We are still really on the fence about it. Most likely many of the people we will end up talking to, are the friends we are still in touch with. Not super interested, but we still may go. I told my wife I could care less either way. I'll let her make the decision (we graduated together, btw).
I went to my 10 and was right at pointless to me. Basically I sat around with my buddy and drank, but he works in the next classroom over at school so not really anything exciting.
Me and my wife both had our 10 year reunions last year on consecutive weekends. Mine was great. Yeah, I knew what everyone was doing via FB, but there were still some people that I really wanted to catch up with since I moved away 10 years earlier. We had a really small class (31), so we all just met at a local restaurant/bar. I'd say about 90% of the class showed up. I really enjoyed it. My wife's, on the other hand, was just an awkward disaster. She graduated with about 400, and probably only 25 people showed up. It was hosted at a rather nice restaurant, so we really couldn't enjoy ourselves as a large group. It was also very strange how my wife was treated. She was the awkward, kinda nerdy girl in HS, and later on she developed into the beautiful woman she is today. My wife felt really weird when the "popular" girls invited her to sit with them. And then they proceeded to just talk about everyone else. Just a weird experience.
I like the way Jase Robertson Put it. "If I haven't contacted you in 20 years, theres probably a reason."
Hmmm, lets see, I graduated in '71,,,talk about old !!! and NO, I didn't go to any of mine, I see a few people I still want to see, that's all I need.
Everyone I want to have contact with from High School I already do. I have not gone to one and probably never will.
Ironically my 5 year is tomorrow so I'll let ya know then. Like already mentioned, I already see everyone that I want and the fact that I graduated with 40 people it's pretty easy to stay in contact with everyone. I have two weddings and my reunion tomorrow so should be a good day!
I guess the appeal of reunions are more for people that do not live in their hometown anymore? I was really excited about mine. I saw a lot of people that I had not seen since HS graduation night.
I predict that if we do go then will congregate to the people that have kids and talk about that all night. Nothing wrong with that I reckon.
I went to the 30th. Besides myself, there was one other person who came from out of town and the rest were locals.
I didn't go to my 10 yr. Doubt I'll go to any of them. I already know more than I'd care to about many of my classmates. Thanks Facebook....
My 20 year reunion is in a few weeks. There were only 24 people in my class and I doubt that more than 10 people show up. I'm going but I'm keeping the expectations pretty low.
My 25th was in June didn't go and haven't gone to any I do hang out with a couple guys and fish but that's about it.
