Here is what kind of forgiveness a high FOC arrow with feathers will give you.I had my rest cable pull through on my Spot Hog Whammy(first ever failure I have had with any type of fallaway cable in years of shooting them but it was my fault) I noticed it but since I was shooting feathers I went ahead and shot. The first arrow drilled the 11 ring with zero issues so I shot the 2nd and the fletching ripped off the feather BUT the arrow still found it's mark in the 11 ring.I think both shots would have killed the prey. The shots were both 23 yard targets. I am using ACC Prohunter 440's with 145 gr field points(150 grain broadheads) that yields 19% foc. Believe it or not,it was even windy today. Oh,the other arrows are my son's and he found the 11 ring on both targets as well.He is only 11.
Not really the intent of the thread but thanks.I assume you are starting to get into a few activites with yours as well. He shot ok Sunday,262 on a 30 target course but not up to his potential.Of course neither of us have shot since the last time I posted about him beating me. His bow is already set too short for him and I need to make some adjustments to it but right now is baseball time.He is batting right at .500 with a homerun in his first game and plenty of doubles. He was batting 4rth but was moved to 1rst,assuming due to all the walks he is drawing. His team is in 1rst place and undefeated and all moves at this point seam to be just to see what might happen.
Yea they do and by the way,he hit a grand slam tonight. OK,that was really the only reason I brought this thread back up.
