So I lost my pruning shears yesterday while packing in a stand through a half mile of corn. I'm not heart broken though, because despite costing around $30 they were junk. They were the rotating handle Fiskars you can get at Home Depot.

I do a LOT of run and gun hunting, almost half my sits. I've found that the pruning shears are faster and quieter. Since I'm using them a lot, I'd like to buy something quality that will last a while and I don't mind spending money. I'd like something that will cut up to 1" branches with ease.

    Any suggestions?

Pruning shears are faster and quieter than...a hand saw? Is that what you are saying? I could use a pair too so hope you get some input.

A friend has a pair of these Felco shears and says they're fantastic, but I haven't seen them in use. He uses them for pruning apple trees on his land. I have a professional series pair of Corona Loppers that I use that I can cut 2.5" branches in one swipe and get larger ones if I cut and then rotate 45 degrees and then cut again. I think I have the same fiskars pruning shears you had and they work okay for .5" or smaller, but, like you said, aren't anything special

Fitz I was going to say the same thing. Matt do yourself a favor and send Dean (Treehopper) a message.

Is Treehopper still in business? Their website doesn't pull up for me..........

I'm curious the people recommending them, have you compared them directly to some of the professional grade items that are out there?

There is no joke here. I am not sure about his website but he still sells them and a sweet linesman belt also.

I have no clue what pruners I'd go with if I ever stopped using Treehopper's things are freaking awesome! I take down freaking saplings even with them. (I too use his lineman's belt as well).

Ty, the ones I won from you aren't working. I should take a quick video clip to show you once what's going on. I would agree they were awesome while they worked!

I'll second the Felco products. Being in the landscaping/green industry, these are the go to when looking for something durable and dependable. They offer everything from hand pruners, loppers, hand and pole saws.

The Hooyman ones are pretty good as well. They have a saw built in too
