Congrats one of many points this year. Hopefully I will get out this evening but it is so windy it's been windy all week.
got out this afternoon and had a great hunt. seen 2 does, passed up a 2.5 yr old 8 pt. and had an awesome encounter with a 160ish 11 pt. had him at 35 yds but he wouldn't come any further. still have a lot of season left. I just hung this stand last night and can't believe it is this good so far.

We had a small buck come by this morning with a few does, a short time later my wife saw him with a single doe then my sister and I had a nice doe come by at 15 yards she didn't see her in time to get a shot, I was trying to get her attention to draw but by the time she saw me it was to late, had to let her walk, I could've shot but she's 13 and wanted her to see everything for exactly what it was. I think she had fun and she said she'd be looking much harder next time! Heading out this evening to try to fill a doe permit wish me luck!! It's my honey hole where I filled all my tags last fall!!
I went out this morning and had a doe with a button buck come I shot the doe at ten yards. She ran out in a corn field and I could see blood coming from her I waited a bit to check for blood. I started to blood trail her got real good blood then all of a sudden it went to drops. So I backed out got breakfast and went back out about an hour later. I found a bed with some blood not tons and after that I only found drops I mean tiny drops of blood every ten yards. I got the shot of video and it looks real good just a touch back but the height was good. I also found some corn in the blood which I know is not a good thing. I think I'm gonna head out around 3 or so to look again she went about 300 yards before I lost blood. I am mad at myself
sounds like you might have got some liver also. especially if she is bedding that close to where you shot her. things like this happen all the time. keep your head up and keep grinding! as long as you give it your best that's all anyone can ask for. after you have gave it your best the best medicine for it is to get right back in the stand. soon after a few sits you will be a bow hunting machine once again. guys I will most likely be shooting my doe in our late season. I love hunting in the frigid temps the deer are so predictable for does. now is the time for bucks for me. I found three more awesome spots today that are just tore up with rubs and scrapes.
Had a ok weekend of hunting. Saw some deer, but nothing close. Had some very windy and rainy conditions. Hoping this coming weekend is better, want to see some bucks on their feet.
